Technology
Biennes propriatary HPHT technology replicates the natural diamond growth conditions that occur deep within the earths mantle.
We recreate the pressure and heat all in-house and source renewable hydro-electric power to keep our diamond growth chambers running.
How much pressure does it take?
It's hard to fathom the 55,000 bar or 850,000psi of pressure our chambers create. To put things in perspective imagine the weight of 100 elephants on the tip of your finger.
How much heat is involved?
1500 degress celcius or 27,232 degrees fahrenheit is incredibly hot. The best visualization of this heat is molten lava. Essentially lava is so hot it turns stone and metal into liquid. This is how hot the core of our diamond creation chamber must be to grow a diamond.
How much electricity is needed?
With so much pressure and temperature at play you might wonder just how much power is needed to grow a diamond. The average time in the chamber for growth is 4 days and the energy required is similar to that of a hair dryer being left on for the same amount of time.
Where does the energy come from?
Here in Switzerland our energy to grow diamonds comes from renewable hydro-electric power. We believe that clean energy and clean diamonds go hand in hand.
